Am 3. August 2014 begann der Genozid an den Jesidinnen und Jesiden in Şengal (Sinjar), verübt durch den sogenannten IS. Tausende Menschen wurden ermordet, Frauen und Kinder verschleppt und versklavt, Hunderttausende mussten fliehen. Bis heute prägen die Folgen dieses Verbrechens das Leben vieler Betroffener.
Anlässlich des 12. Jahrestages laden wir euch herzlich zu einer Gedenkveranstaltung ein. Gemeinsam schauen wir den Film „Hêza“ von Derya Deniz und tauschen uns im Anschluss bei einer Q&A- und Diskussionsrunde über Erinnerung, Aufarbeitung und die Bedeutung des Gedenkens aus.

Invitation to the 12th Commemoration of the Yazidi Genocide
On 3rd August of 2014, the genocide against the Yazidi people began in Şengal (Sinjar), carried out by the so-called ISIS. Thousands were murdered, women and children were abducted and enslaved, and hundreds of thousands were forced to flee. The consequences of these atrocities continue to shape the lives of survivors and the Yazidi community to this day.
On the occasion of the 12th anniversary, we warmly invite you to join us for a commemorative event. Together, we will watch the film “Hêza” by Derya Deniz, followed by a Q&A and discussion on remembrance, justice, and the importance of keeping the memory of these events alive.
